Chapter 5: Stick with What You Know
Bible Reading: Ruth 1:21-22
21 I went out full and the Lord hath brought me home again empty: why then call ye me Naomi, seeing the Lord hath testified against me, and the Almighty hath afflicted me?
22 So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Bethlehem in the beginning of barley harvest.
Chosen Notes From Chapter:
Sometimes in life, we expect a relationship, an event, or a transaction to go smoothly—and then discover that the reality is much different.
Regardless of the catalyst, life continually presents us with moments that force us to revise our expectations and recalculate our present path.
Sometimes the only way to move forward is to go back to what we know and start again.
…..we can do all the right things, but if it’s with the wrong person or at the wrong time, we won’t get the desired results.
Questions to Ask Yourself:
- What is the last time you remember being happy, safe, or free?
- What was it about that period that contributed to your joy?
- What’s one thing from your childhood that still makes your heart smile? Can you return to it for some comfort in the midst of your present pain?
- Who are the people you can count on to remind you who you really are?
