It’s My Birthday!

I’m going to be a little of a copy cat today of Anne’s previous Sweeter 17 post, because today is my 17th birthday! Woohoo!

It feels rather odd, because people make a big deal out 16 and 18, but it seems 17 is just there. So this year I am going to make 17 the best!

For my birthday I am mostly just hanging out with friends throughout the week, and yesterday, Anne and I FaceTimed and opened our presents.

I think I’ll go over a quick rundown of my favorite things right now, then!

Dancing Through Life

IMG_1985

You don’t know how many times I’ve messed up while dancing. I was doing it so much that I finally learned how to make it look like I was doing it on purpose.

Its the same way with life. I mess up all the time. But instead of telling yourself that you’re a failure, realize that you aren’t stupid and clumsy. You are you and when you realize that, the dance goes a lot smoother.

Gotta Get To Jesus

As my family and I have been going through some hard times lately, I find that my books, country music and movies don’t help my raw emotions at all. Those things are all fun entertainment but they do nothing for your broken heart.

I have discovered this past week that reading the Bible, talking to God and listening to Godly music has helped to put me at some peace. It’s something I need to do daily but you don’t realize how important God is to you until you need Him.

This song by The Collingsworth Family has been an immense help to me. I listen to it in the morning while doing my hair and it really helps me get through the day.

Here it is and I hope after listening to it, you will put on the top of your to do list: “I’ve Gotta Get To Jesus!” God Bless!
